PAL Robotics TALOS
PAL RoboticsHumanoid robot
TALOS is a 1.75 m, 95 kg adult-size humanoid robot from PAL Robotics with 32 degrees of freedom (6 per leg, 7 per arm, 1 per gripper, 2 in the waist, 2 in the neck, each doubled left/right where applicable). It is fully torque-controllable, with force/torque sensor feedback in every joint except the head, wrists and grippers, and can lift 6 kg with one arm fully stretched. It runs Ubuntu LTS with a real-time OS, using ROS internally with ros_control and OROCOS; its talos_robot and talos_simulation GitHub repositories default to the humble-devel branch and are officially released into the ROS 2 Humble distribution, together with an official Gazebo simulation model and a MoveIt! motion-planning configuration. Its Lithium-Ion battery (1080 Wh nominal) gives about 1.5 hours of walking or 3 hours of stand-by autonomy. PAL Robotics' ROS Wiki page describes TALOS as 'a commercial humanoid robot' used as a research platform.

| ROS 2 | Official | talos_robot (2.10.3), talos_simulation/talos_gazebo (2.0.3) and talos_moveit_config (2.0.4) are PAL's own GitHub repositories with humble-devel as the default branch (ROS 2 Humble), and are bloom-released into the official ROS 2 Humble rosdistro index. No entries exist in the Jazzy (ROS 2) or Noetic (ROS 1) rosdistro indices, and older kinetic-devel/indigo-devel (ROS 1) branches are stale, so ROS 2 Humble is the only currently supported distro. | [6][10][16] |
