Community guidelines
A place for people who build, program and evaluate humanoid robots to ask, answer and show their work.
Be useful
Ask specific questions: name the robot, the software versions and what you tried. Answer from experience and say what you know first-hand and what you read elsewhere. Link the paper, repository or documentation you rely on.
Be accurate
Discuss products and companies with evidence, not speculation. Posts are members’ experience and opinion, not verified facts; WBH’s robot data stays source-linked and separate. If a robot’s data on WeBuildHumanoids is wrong, use the corrections page so it can be fixed for everyone. Label claims you could not verify.
Be respectful
No harassment, insults, threats or hostility towards people, companies or nationalities. Disagree with arguments, not with people. Do not post anyone’s personal data.
Disclose affiliation, do not advertise
If you work for, sell or are otherwise connected to what you post about, tick “I am affiliated” when you post, so your post carries the Affiliated label. Show-and-tell of your own project is welcome; posts that only promote, without substance, are removed. Selling and recruiting belong elsewhere until the community has places for them.
Safety
Humanoid robots can injure people. Share safety advice as your experience, not as authority; point to the maker’s instructions. Do not post ways to defeat safety systems.
Your account
You must be 16 or older. One account per person; do not impersonate people, makers or WeBuildHumanoids. Keep your sign-in methods secure: we will never ask for a sign-in code.
New members
To keep spam out, new accounts start with lower daily limits (a few threads, replies and reports a day, and two links per post), may be asked to pass a short bot check when they start a thread, and have posts with links to unfamiliar websites reviewed before they appear. After a few posts over a few days without upheld reports, these limits rise automatically. Link shorteners are not allowed for anyone: link the page itself.
Threads started by WBH
Threads labelled “Started by WBH” are opened by WBH’s editors to start a conversation. Everything after the opening post is written by members. WBH never posts replies, votes or activity under invented names.
Reporting and moderation
Use “Report” on any post or profile that breaks these guidelines; the member you report does not see who reported them. Moderators can hold posts for review, hide or remove content with a stated reason, lock threads, and limit (read-only), suspend or ban accounts. Every moderation action is recorded with a reason, and you can appeal by email to hello@webuildhumanoids.com.
Your posts
Your posts remain yours: WBH claims no ownership, only the permission it needs to show them as part of the site (see the terms). You can edit and delete your own posts while they are public or waiting for review. Earlier versions are kept for moderation and never shown. When you delete your account you choose whether your posts stay anonymised or are erased. See the terms and the privacy policy.
